Behaviour Support Assistant – Secondary PRU, Ferryhill

A specialist Secondary PRU in Ferryhill is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to provide support for students with social, emotional and behavioural needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a supportive alternative provision setting, helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students within the classroom environment
• Deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions
• Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
• Promote positive engagement in learning
• Encourage the development of social and communication skills
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals

Requirements:

• Previous experience supporting young people with behavioural needs is desirable
• Calm, patient and resilient approach
• Excellent communication skills
• Full-time availability
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
