Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Pay: Approx. £95 – £105 per day (term-time only, dependent on experience)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, term time only plus INSET days

As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll play a genuinely life-changing role in a student’s day-to-day experience of school. You’ll be the calm presence, the quiet encourager, and the trusted adult who helps remove barriers to learning, one moment at a time.
Working closely with teachers and the SENDCo, you’ll tailor your support to meet individual needs, whether that’s academic guidance, emotional reassurance, or specialist care. Your goal is simple but powerful, to help every learner build confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging.
What you’ll be doing
Your role will include:

Supporting individual students or small groups in and out of the classroom to ensure safe access to learning

Delivering targeted interventions, including Literacy, Numeracy, Emotional Literacy and social skills programmes

Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENDCo, and external professionals such as Speech and Language Therapists or Educational Psychologists

Preparing and adapting personalised learning resources to meet a range of additional needs

Observing, assessing, and recording progress using school systems such as Arbor or SIMS

Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and self-esteem through high expectations and consistent support

Contributing to Personalised Learning Plans, EHCPs, and wider SEND documentation

Providing hands-on support for students with complex needs, including personal care or medical procedures, following appropriate training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
