An amazing job opportunity has arisen for a committed Specialty Doctor t o work in an exceptional hospital setting based in the Dewsbury area. As a Specialty Doctor you will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers.

The hospital provides a specialist inpatient service for adults and older age males with severe and enduring mental health conditions, who may also have an undiagnosed memory related illness. They also provide a specialist neurocognitive/dementia care service for males presenting with very agitated or aggressive behaviour.

 

As a Specialty Doctor your day to day duties include:

·         Ensuring an adequate handover to colleagues including out of hours.
Reviewing the mental state of patients as per the hospital procedure.

·         Taking a lead with managing any physical health concerns that emerge during inpatient stay

·         Seeking collateral history from other professionals and family

·         Preparing mental health review tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearing reports under supervision of Consultant

·         Providing prospective cover to other specialty doctors when they are on leave

·         Work effectively with colleagues to ensure that patients have access to appropriate medical cover at all time

 

An ideal Specialty Doctor must have these skills and experiences as they are beneficial for this position:

·         Full GMC registration

·         Experience working in psychiatry within multi-disciplinary teams

·         Experience working as a doctor within a general adult, rehabilitation or forensic setting

·         Able to show a can-do attitude always
