An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Band 5 School Nurse to work in an exceptional wellbeing service based in the Basildon, Essex area. You will be working for one of UK’s leading health care providers

 

This service ensures that families continue to have easy access to local services, but staff are also be able to reach children and families in the community; whether in a local clinic, play area or in a family’s front room

 

**You will be qualified as an RGN Nurse with experience of working with children and young people**

 

As a Nurse your key duties include:

·         Delivery of the healthy child programme 5-19 at four levels as delegated by the Specialist Community Public Health School Nurse

·         Have the ability to recognize health needs for individual clients and situations in relation to the health of children, young people, individuals and families, sometimes in complex situations, identifying situations where referral for support from Public Health Specialist is necessary

·         Undertake health assessments in schools

·         Prepare for, attend and participate in relevant case conferences and inter-agency meetings as delegated by the Specialist Community Public Health nurse (SCPHN). Undertaking health needs assessments and care planning as appropriate

·         Support the SCPHN in providing specialist targeted support to meet the needs of children identified as at risk or with complex needs and ensure Partnership plus plan in place

·         Support the SCPHN to identify, prioritise and implement programmes of support in response to the public health needs of the school age population

 

The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:

·         Experience of working with children and young people

·         Understanding of child and adolescent development

·         Knowledge of national and local policy in Children’s Service and Public Health

·         Ability to work alone and part of a multidisciplinary team

·         Ability to work on own initiative and self motivated
