

SEND Level 3 Teaching Assistant
About the Role
We are seeking a committed, creative, and enthusiastic Level 3 SEND Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, MLD, ADHD, and other complex needs, helping to remove barriers to learning and promote positive outcomes for all pupils.
This role is ideal for someone who is emotionally resilient, adaptable, and passionate about supporting children with SEND within a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities

Support pupils with SEND on a one-to-one basis or in small groups

Implement strategies to support pupils with autism and other additional needs
-
Assist with planning and delivering tailored learning activities

Monitor, record, and report pupil progress effectively
-
Support positive behaviour management and conflict resolution
-
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals
-
Use ICT effectively to support learning
-
Maintain safeguarding and child protection standards at all times
Essential Skills

Committed, creative, and enthusiastic approach to supporting pupils

A good classroom practitioner with knowledge of autism and effective support strategies

Ability to break down barriers to learning

Strong behaviour management and conflict management skills

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Effective communicator with pupils, staff, and parents

Adaptable and flexible approach to work

Emotionally resilient and able to work in challenging situations

Ability to lead learning for individuals or small groups and record progress accurately
Qualifications
-
Good numeracy and literacy skills
-
NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification (e.g. NNEB)

Training in relevant learning strategies
-
Specialist knowledge in a particular curriculum area or SEND (desirable)
Experience
-
Experience working with pupils with additional needs such as complex autism, MLD, ADHD, or FASD
-
Experience supervising small groups of children
-
Previous experience supporting children with SEND
-
Good attendance record
Knowledge and Understanding
-
Good understanding of child development and learning processes
-
Working knowledge of the national curriculum / foundation stage curriculum
-
Effective use of ICT to support learning (e.g. computers, video, photocopiers)
-
Awareness of relevant legislation relating to safeguarding and child protection

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
