A fantastic new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Clinical Psychologist (CAMHS Eating Disorder) to work in an exceptional mental health clinic based in the Brighton and Hove, East Sussex area. As a Clinical Psychologist you will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers.

This mental health clinic provides highly specialist multidisciplinary assessment and treatment for children and adolescents with an eating disorder where behavioural or emotional problem may have resulted in a severely restricted dietary intake. Psychological interventions include individual therapy, systemic family therapy, therapeutic groups, meal support sessions and a parent support group.

As a Clinical Psychologist your day to day duties include:

·         Developing individualised care plan.

·         Responsible for the collection and analysis of routine outcome measures.

·         Assessing and evaluating information from the child, family and significant others, multi-disciplinary medical team and external agencies relating to medical condition and developmental status and incorporate this information into a clinical formulation

·         Evaluating and making decisions about treatment options taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual or family

·         Providing specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to service users formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan

·         Contributing directly and indirectly to a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all service users of the service, across all settings and agencies serving the service users group

·         Undertaking risk assessment and risk management for individual service users and providing advice to other professions on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management.

 

An ideal Clinical Psychologist must have these skills as they are beneficial for this position:

·         Experience of working with the adolescent/young age range

·         Experience working with Eating Disorder service users

·         DBT/CBT/ Family therapy trained

·         A strong interest in the mental health of young people and their families

·         Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS

·         Doctoral level knowledge of research methodology, research design and data analysis as practised within the clinical fields of psychology

·         Ability to form good working relationships with others in a multidisciplinary setting

·         Evidence of personal resilience and aptitude for dealing with potentially distressing and highly emotive clinical work

 

The successful Clinical Psychologist will receive an excellent salary depending on experience.

To be considered for this position you must hold a Post graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology as accredited by the British Psychological Society
