

Ward Manager
An outstanding job opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Ward Manager to join an exceptional rehabilitation and recovery service. As a Ward Manager you will be working for a company which is rated highly and has an excellent reputation in the Coventry area.
This is rehabilitation and recovery service for males requiring a positive environment to stabilise the symptoms of mental illness, and develop positive self-management and independent skills for a successful discharge into the community.
As a Ward Manager your day to day duties include:
· Manage the ward staffing levels including rota management, annual leave and training.
· Ensures that all members of the nursing team receive clinical supervision, appraisal, CPD requirements and complete mandatory training.
· Acts as a highly visible role model, mentor and leader, creating a culture that promotes learning and development.
· Ensures that all patients have clear current care plans that reflect their personalised needs, and are evidence based.
· Ensure the ward has clear procedures and processes to support the safe and effective running of the ward at all times.
· Ensures that clinical communication, records, handovers, reports and other patient related information is recorded promptly and accurately.
· Makes sure that the physical healthcare needs of patients are assessed and managed effectively.
An ideal Ward Manager must have these skills as they are beneficial for this position:
· Be currently Registered with the Nursing Midwifery Council as a first level nurse, with at least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity.
· Appropriate registration required for the ward
· Mental Health for mental health wards
· Learning Disabilities for LD wards
· Mental Health or General for ABI wards; with at least 2 years post-registration experience working on ABI wards
· Willingness to complete further clinical, managerial and leadership training and development relevant to your area of practice in management and leadership.
· Trained and current Mentor.
· Computer literate
The successful Ward Manager will receive an excellent annual salary of £40,905. This exciting position is for 37.5 hours a week. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
