Exciting new job opening for RMN OR RNLD Charge Nurse to work leading providers of independent specialist secure and step-down care across the UK.  AS a Charge nurse you will be working on secure ward specialises treatment with mental health problems, including Personality Disorder and Mental Illness who require secure care due to their offending or other risk behaviours.

The successful candidate for this job will be offered an excellent salary of £35,805 per annum plus other great benefits.

Our Ward Charge Nurse - role involves:

• Being a clinical lead and a clear leader for the Nursing team and managing shifts
• Providing high quality care in our low secure and medium secure wards, with patients suffering from Enduring Mental Illness; Personality disorder  and acute episodes of illness
• Developing therapeutic relationships to optimise patient engagement
• Following all codes of conduct, standards and legislation, respecting the rights of others and promoting ethical practice
• Contributing to patient assessments, compiling a plan of care alongside the individual, and monitoring patient progress
• Mentoring and supporting student nurses and other members of the team
• Promoting professional development within the team
• Supporting the Ward Manager to ensure the patients receive the highest standard of care

Qualifications/Experience

 To be successful as Charge Nurse, you’ll need:

• A RMN or RNLD qualification
• A keen desire to work in a challenging specialist field
• Experience in a secure forensic environment is desirable
• The ability to assess and teach junior staff
• A proven ability to co-ordinate care, prioritise tasks and manage Health & Safety issues
• The drive to learn and develop
