Youth Workers – Secondary School Support (Newcastle)

Youth Workers – Secondary Schools in Newcastle
£89.39–£100 per day | ASAP start | Part-time & Full-time available

We are working closely with a number of mainstream secondary schools across Newcastle who are looking to bring in experienced youth workers to support students both in and out of the classroom.

These schools support pupils with SEMH needs, low-level behaviour challenges, attendance concerns and engagement difficulties, and are looking for adults who can build trust, set boundaries and act as positive role models.

Your role in school will include:

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups

  • Helping students regulate behaviour and emotions during lessons

  • Supporting transitions between lessons and unstructured times

  • Working closely with pastoral teams, SEND staff and teachers

This role is well suited to youth workers who:

  • Have experience working with teenagers

  • Are confident managing behaviour calmly and consistently

  • Want stable, weekday work in a school environment

What the schools offer:

  • Welcoming, supportive pastoral teams

  • Clear routines and expectations

  • Long-term opportunities for the right candidates

School experience is helpful but not essential — training and ongoing support are provided.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
