New Job opening for experienced RMN Lead Nurse to work  with UK’s leading providers of independent specialist secure and step-down services for people with mental illness, personality disorders, learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders and brain injuries. As qualified and experienced Lead Nurse who can provide a nursing clinical leadership and work as part of the local management team for hospital, as well as oversee the management of the wards and directly manage the Ward Manager.

The hospital is low secure and Inpatient Rehabilitation including specialised High Dependency Unit.

The successful candidate will be offered a salary of £42,420 per annum plus other great benefits.

Our Lead Nurse role involves:

  • Providing a nursing clinical leadership as part of the MDT for Nelson House Hospital, overseeing the management of the ward and on-site flat and directly managing the Ward Manager
  • Being a skilled communicator at all levels and working cohesively, professionally and effectively with staff, external agencies, visitors, carers and residents
  • Being responsible for personal professional development and that of the nursing team, including the mentorship of students
  • Being involved in all aspects of recruitment of nursing staff within the unit in partnership with the Director of Nursing and Hospital Director as appropriate

To be successful as Lead Nurse, you’ll need:

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven ability to set an exemplary example to others, be self-motivating and demonstrate a consistent and fair approach in all matters.
  • Ability to develop and motivate staff
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team
  • Ability to plan and manage annual planning
  • Ability to manage competency frameworks within nursing team
  • Ability to manage, supervise and promote staff welfare
  • Teaching experience in the workplace
  • Experience of service development/ service review and leading on successful implementation of change
  • Understanding of best practice for rehabilitation settings and the benefits and challenges and embedding this within the service
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Ability to promote, monitor and maintain best practice in health, safety and security

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Educated to degree level, or professional equivalent
  • At least 5 years post qualification experience, 2 of which must be at Ward Manager level or above
  • Recent teaching qualification or equivalent experience.

Desirable

  • Educated to higher degree level
  • Therapeutic Qualification
