Fantastic job opening for Anaesthetic / Recovery Practitioner to join one of the UK’s leading care company. As a practitioner you will be working in a treatment centre located in Southampton area, the hospital offers surgery for many common health needs, including hip and knee replacement, hernias, gall bladder surgery and cataracts.

As a Recovery Practitioner, you will conduct basic theatre duties and ensure that the care, welfare, safety and comfort of all patients is of the highest possible standard. You will take responsibility for the receiving of any new patient to the recovery room and assess the patients appropriately and effectively for their requirements throughout the recovery period.  Also you will work under the Theatre Manager to maintain safe levels of patient care within scrub or anaesthetic practice. You must have current and adequate level of knowledge, competence, understanding and skill in the specialist theatre fields

The successful candidate you will be offered a competitive salary of £26,000 - £30,000 per annum plus other generous benefits.

To be successful in the role, you will have: 

·         Relevant and proven experience in an operating theatre as a scrub or anaesthetics nurse. 

·         Relevant post-basic experience in Anaesthesia and Recovery room nursing or ITU 

·         Competency in IV therapies and catheterisation 

·          Knowledge of infection control practices 

 Experience of extubation and resuscitation of patients 
 Up to date sound clinical knowledge of: 

Anaesthetics, sedatives, muscle relaxants, analgesics and emergency drugs, extubation of patients and spinal, epidural and general anaesthetics.
