Job Description


Expanding flooring company in Stockport seeks experienced sales advisor and flooring estimator. Due to growth over the past 12 months Holmes Carpets is looking for an experienced and motivated Salesperson to join it's team of 15+ employees on a journey that has seen the company grow to one of the largest independent flooring retailers in the North West and one of the fastest growing. Whilst maintaining an average 4.8-5 star overall rating on various feedback websites for it's customer service. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience and knowledge with all types of flooring and have a provern record of achieving goals, KPIs and managing teams to reach success. The role will be based from our Heaton Mersey store. Experience with beds and blinds would be advantageous but not required

The ideal candidate: 

• Extensive knowledge of flooring products and the industry 
• Punctual, well-mannered and presentable 
• Comfortable in a managerial role 
• An ability to show authority 
• Proficient in maths and numerical skills 
• Able to work with customers, fitters and staff accordingly 
• A self-starter who is able to work alone and provide results 
• Able to form relationships with third parties 
• Able to use email proficiently 
• Has good experience and ability with computers and can pick up software programs fast 
• Good time management and ability to plan your day’s activities 
• Experience with social media management 

The role will involve: 

 • Opening and closing of the showroom 
• Weekly staff meetings 
• Performance reviews 
• Driving your team to reach targets/KPIs 
• Managing staff in various roles 
• The ability to stand out from competitors 
• Answering phones and assisting customers who call us 
• Working as in-store sales advisor when required 
• Coming up with and offering solutions 
• Creating work opportunities and improving the business 
• Having an eye for detail and design 
• Securing deposits and taking payments 
• Not over promising customers, whilst offering our extensive services 
• Ensuring ordering systems are maintained 
• Recruitment of future staff
• Ensuring excellent customer service 
• Maximising positive reviews 
• Allocating fitters to appropriate jobs 
• Resolving customers concerns and complaints effectively 

Job Info: 

The role will involve variable hours/days to meet the needs of the business and its customers across a range of weekdays and weekends. It will be based out of our showroom in Heaton Mersey, Stockport.
