An exciting job opportunity has arisen for a motivated Consultant Applied Psychologist (Qualified or Senior) to work with one of the UK’s leading health care company. As a Psychologist you will be working one of the larger hospital group service based in Stockton-on-the-Forest, York.

This special service is a highly specialised hospital where patients requiring a medium secure care setting can maximise value from therapeutic interventions. Their services have produced excellent recovery results for patients and they are able to progress to low secure or locked rehabilitation if possible.

As a Consultant Applied Psychologist (Qualified or Senior) your day to day duties include:

·         Providing quality, inspiring innovation and delivering value

·         Enable patients to receive a truly integrated and holistic approach to their treatment

·         Producing positive clinical outcomes for highly complex patients

·         Provide a medium-secure care setting in which patients access a broad range of therapeutic interventions including one-to-one and group-based psychological treatment

·         Produce excellent recovery results for patients, maximising their opportunity to progress to conditions of lower-security as safely and efficiently as possible

·         Delivery and evaluation of these evidence-based interventions, in order to comply with best-practice principles

·         Incorporate staff training, staff support, management of programmes, and supervision of members of staff including colleagues from within the Psychology Department

An ideal Consultant Applied Psychologist (Qualified or Senior) must have these skills as they are beneficial for this position:

·         Have full registration as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

·         Post-qualification experience is advantageous

·         Have the ability to apply psychological knowledge to a secure mental health setting

·         Will be able to adopt a systematic approach and to respond flexibly to both the treatment requirements of mentally disordered individuals and the complexities associated with organisational settings

The successful Consultant Applied Psychologist (Qualified or Senior) will receive an excellent annual salary of £37,000 - £58,000 depending upon experience.
