Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – SEND and SEMH
Location: Sunderland
Pay: £95–£115 per day
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term

We are recruiting an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support pupils with SEND and SEMH needs in a supportive education setting.
This role is ideal for a confident HLTA who can work independently, lead learning activities and provide high-quality support to pupils who benefit from structure, consistency and positive relationships.
You will work closely with teaching and SEN staff to support learning, behaviour and emotional wellbeing across the school day.
Key responsibilities:
• Leading small-group learning sessions and interventions
• Supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs
• Covering lessons where required under teacher guidance
• Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation
• Assisting with planning and adapting learning activities
• Supporting pupils’ confidence, independence and engagement
This role is ideal for someone who:
• Holds HLTA status
• Has experience supporting pupils with SEND or SEMH
• Is confident leading learning activities
• Is calm, organised and proactive

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
