

RMN Ward Manager

As a ward manager you will co-ordinate the quality and management of nursing care, patient care and the clinical environment with 24 hour responsibility for staffing. Participate fully with the multidisciplinary team and undertake direct patient care. Manage and direct the delivery of clinical services within a ward or unit, ensuring it complies with statutory regulations, current legislation and meets quality standards.

We are seeking a talented Ward Manager with the commitment, experience and motivation to lead our two acute MSU wards at Hospital in Thatcham near Newbury. The hospital is around 120 bedded hospital is set in 21 acres of Berkshire countryside, close the Hampshire borders. Hospital provides care for adult detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) who requires care in conditions of medium and low security.
You will posses excellent communication skills; written, verbal and interpersonal and be highly organised with good problem solving skills and the ability to motivate others. Most importantly, you will be passionate about delivering exceptional standards of care; priding yourself on being a role model by adhering to the NMC Code of conduct and demonstrate a real desire to improve and develop our recovery based services.
The successful applicant will be an experienced RMN who can demonstrate excellent leadership skills and the ability to clinically develop the ward through effective staff management, monitoring clinical standards and practice. You will work closely with the Director of Clinical Services to achieve the hospital targets and ensure the delivery of high quality care. The post holder will have 24 hour responsibility for staffing and the effective running of the acute MSU wards and will also participate in the hospitals On-Call system.
