Science Teacher – Maternity Cover
Wakefield | Full-time | February start until Christmas

Are you a passionate Science Teacher looking for a full-time role where you can really make an impact, without the long-term commitment? We’re working with a welcoming secondary school in Wakefield who are looking for a confident and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join them from February, covering maternity leave through until Christmas.

You’ll be teaching KS3 and KS4 Science, delivering engaging lessons that spark curiosity and build confidence in the classroom. The department is supportive, well-resourced and genuinely collaborative, making this a great opportunity to settle in quickly and focus on what you do best, teaching great science.

The role at a glance:

  • Full-time maternity cover

  • February start, running until Christmas

  • Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4

  • Based in Wakefield, with good transport links

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is a qualified Science Teacher (QTS or equivalent)

  • Has recent experience teaching KS3 and KS4

  • Brings energy, clarity and strong classroom presence

  • Is reliable, organised and ready to hit the ground running

  • Enjoys being part of a team and contributing to school life

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
