For some children, finding the right words isn’t easy. With the right support, though, everything can change.

A BS3 primary school is looking for a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with speech and language needs. This is a rewarding role where you’ll help children develop communication skills that impact every part of their learning.

What your day will involve:
You’ll work with pupils on speech and language activities, both in small groups and 1:1. You’ll follow guidance from the SENCO and speech and language professionals to support development.

You’ll help pupils build confidence in expressing themselves, understanding instructions, and engaging in classroom activities.

You’ll also support in class, ensuring communication strategies are used consistently throughout the day.

The ideal candidate:
You’re patient, attentive, and a strong communicator. You listen carefully, notice small changes, and adapt your approach accordingly.

Experience in speech and language support is great, but not essential. What matters most is your ability to connect and communicate effectively.

You’re calm, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping children find their voice.
