

Unqualified Teaching Assistant
Protocol Education are seeking a caring, dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team and provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 4 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children thrive both academically and socially. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals to support the pupil's individual needs and ensure they can fully access the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support for a child with ASD in a Year 2 classroom.
- Implement strategies and interventions identified in the pupil's support plan.
- Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
- Adapt learning activities to meet the child's individual needs.
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement in learning.
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate records where required.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents and external agencies.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly ASD.
- A patient, nurturing and flexible approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with children.
- An understanding of autism-friendly practices and strategies.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
