SEN HLTA – PRU School, Ferryhill

We are working in partnership with a welcoming Pupil Referral Unit in Ferryhill that is seeking a dedicated SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support pupils with a range of social, emotional and additional learning needs.

This specialist setting is committed to creating positive outcomes for young people by providing tailored support, personalised learning opportunities and a nurturing environment where every pupil can succeed.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver targeted interventions to support pupil progress
• Lead small group and one-to-one learning sessions
• Support pupils with SEND, SEMH needs and EHCPs
• Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams and SEND professionals
• Monitor pupil development and adapt support strategies accordingly
• Encourage independence, resilience and positive engagement with learning

Requirements
• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• A patient, adaptable and nurturing approach
• Ability to travel to Ferryhill and surrounding areas
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
