Protocol Education is seeking a compassionate and resilient Graduate Criminology Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming SEN school in Gateshead.
This rewarding full-time role involves supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You'll play a vital role in helping pupils manage their emotions, develop positive relationships and engage successfully with learning.
This opportunity is ideal for graduates looking to gain valuable experience before pursuing careers in education, youth justice, psychology, probation, social work or mental health services.
Your role will include:
- Supporting pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis.
- Helping learners develop emotional regulation strategies.
- Promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing.
- Encouraging confidence, independence and resilience.
- Working closely with teachers and the wider school team to create an inclusive learning environment.
We're looking for someone who:
- Holds a Criminology degree or a related qualification.
- Is calm, patient and resilient.
- Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
