Graduate Teaching Assistant – Specialist School, Gateshead

We are recruiting a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Gateshead that supports pupils with SEND and SEMH needs. The school places wellbeing, inclusion and personalised learning at the centre of its approach.

As part of a supportive team, you'll work closely with pupils who require additional guidance to achieve their educational and personal goals.

Your role will include:

• Supporting learning on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional resilience
• Building trusted relationships with pupils
• Supporting social and communication development
• Helping create a safe and engaging learning environment

We're looking for:

• Graduates in Psychology or related disciplines
• Individuals who are patient, resilient and caring
• Strong communicators who can build rapport quickly
• Candidates interested in SEND, SEMH or mental health support

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
