Can you lead with confidence, compassion, and consistency?

We're looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist school provision in Gateshead on a full-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Whether your experience comes from education, alternative provision, SEND, youth work, or behaviour support, we'd love to hear from you.

Your role will include:

  • Leading learning for small groups and whole classes when required
  • Delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet individual needs
  • Supporting pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs
  • Using positive behaviour management strategies to encourage success
  • Creating a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Celebrating every achievement, no matter how small

We're looking for someone who:

  • Holds HLTA status or has significant classroom leadership experience
  • Is confident leading lessons independently
  • Has excellent behaviour management skills
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils quickly
  • Is resilient, patient and passionate about inclusive education
  • Must be able to drive and have access to their own vehicle

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
