A welcoming and vibrant mainstream primary school in Sunderland is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher to join their team for the remainder of the summer term.

This is a rewarding opportunity to lead a specialist SEND and SEMH provision within the school, supporting a small group of 9 pupils in Years 2 and 3 with a range of complex needs, including autism and social, emotional and mental health needs.

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated learning tailored to individual needs.
  • Work closely on a daily basis with 5 pupils requiring intensive support.
  • Oversee and contribute to provision for a further 4 pupils.
  • Lead and collaborate with a team of 3 experienced Teaching Assistants.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families to support progress and wellbeing.

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Holds QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification).
  • Has experience working with SEND and/or SEMH pupils, or a strong interest in this area.
  • Is patient, resilient and passionate about inclusive education.
  • Can create a nurturing, structured and engaging learning environment.

Location: Sunderland
Contract: Full-Time, Immediate Start, until the end of the summer term
Trials: Half-day trials available this Thursday and Friday

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
