Teaching Assistant – Complex Needs School – Harlow | September Start

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with complex additional needs to develop their confidence, independence, and achieve their individual goals?

We are working with a fantastic specialist school in Harlow that is looking to appoint a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team from September.

This specialist setting supports young people with a range of complex needs, including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism, and physical or sensory needs. The school provides a nurturing, inclusive, and personalised learning environment where every pupil is supported to develop their communication, independence, and life skills.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to provide high-quality, individualised support throughout the school day. You will assist pupils with their learning, communication, sensory activities, personal care, and mobility needs, helping to create a safe and engaging environment where every young person can thrive.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience supporting children or young people with complex SEND needs, SLD, Autism, or physical/sensory needs
  • Be caring, patient, and compassionate
  • Be comfortable supporting pupils with personal care, mobility, and medical needs where required
  • Have a genuine passion for helping young people develop independence and confidence
  • Be able to build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
