1:1 Learning Support Assistant
Some roles stick with you.
The ones where you’re not just supporting a class, you’re supporting a child. Building trust, boosting confidence, and celebrating the small wins that mean everything.
If that sounds like your kind of role, keep reading.
We’re working with a number of welcoming primary schools across Lambeth looking for 1:1 Learning Support Assistants to support pupils who need a little extra help to thrive in the classroom.
These are long-term roles, where you can really make an impact, with daily supply opportunities there too if you’re after more flexibility.
What the role looks like
- Supporting one pupil on a 1:1 basis throughout the school day
- Helping them stay engaged, focused, and confident in their learning
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
- Creating a calm, consistent, and supportive environment
- Adapting your approach to meet individual needs
You’ll be that steady presence they rely on, and the person who helps turn tricky days into better ones.
What schools are looking for
- Experience supporting children, ideally in a school or care setting
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Confidence to build strong relationships and trust
- Someone who can stay positive, even when things feel challenging
If you’ve worked with SEND pupils before, great. If not, the right attitude goes a long way.
