Position: SEND Support Mentor – Havering

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a real impact in their education?

Protocol Education is looking for a SEND Support Mentor to join a specialist school in Havering on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work with pupils aged 5–16 who have MLD, SLD, ASD, and PMLD, helping them access learning, build confidence, and feel supported throughout the school day.

You may have experience in healthcare, social care, residential support, or personal experience supporting SEND, but previous school experience is not essential. What matters most is your patience, dedication, and genuine care for the children. Some duties may include supporting with personal care.

Key Details:

  • Full-time: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

  • Long-term, permanent role

  • Based in Havering

Ideal Candidate:

  • Has a compassionate and nurturing approach

  • Can quickly build positive relationships with pupils

  • Is confident supporting children with complex needs

  • Works well within a collaborative team

Relevant training, such as Manual Handling, Hoist, First Aid, or Care certifications, is a bonus but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
