Specialist SEND Teacher | Havering & Thurrock

Are you an enthusiastic and nurturing SEND Teacher seeking flexible teaching opportunities across specialist schools in Havering and Thurrock?

Protocol Education is currently working with a range of supportive SEND schools, alternative provisions and specialist settings across Havering and Thurrock, and we are looking for passionate SEND Teachers to join our team. These settings cater for pupils with a variety of additional needs including ASD, SEMH, MLD, SLD and complex learning difficulties.

Whether you are looking for daily supply, short-term placements or opportunities that may lead to long-term or permanent roles, supply teaching provides an excellent opportunity to expand your experience across different SEND environments while making a real difference to students’ education and wellbeing.

As a Specialist SEND Teacher, you will:

Work within a variety of SEND and specialist education provisions
Support students with additional needs including ASD, SEMH and complex needs
Develop effective behaviour management and communication techniques
Collaborate closely with SENCOs, support staff and external professionals
Deliver engaging, differentiated learning tailored to individual student needs and EHCP targets
Build experience across different key stages and specialist environments
Enjoy flexible working opportunities that promote work-life balance
Strengthen future career prospects within SEND and specialist education sectors

Many of our SEND Teachers successfully transition into long-term or permanent roles through supply placements.

To be considered for these SEND Teaching opportunities, you will need:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Previous experience within SEND or specialist education settings is advantageous
A strong passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
A patient, adaptable and resilient approach to teaching and learning
An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
A commitment to creating positive, inclusive and supportive learning environments

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
