Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant – PMLD School
Location: Tower Hamlets, East London
Salary: £95–£100 per day
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term
Start Date: ASAP

Looking for a role where every small step is a big win?

We’re working with a specialist PMLD school in Tower Hamlets that’s on the lookout for a calm, caring Teaching Assistant to join their team. This isn’t your typical classroom role. It’s hands-on, meaningful, and full of moments that really matter.

You’ll be supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties, helping them access learning in a way that works for them, whether that’s through sensory activities, communication support, or simply being a steady, reassuring presence.

What your day might look like:

  • Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups
  • Using sensory approaches to engage learners
  • Assisting with personal care and mobility needs
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff
  • Celebrating the small wins, because they’re often the biggest

What the school is looking for:

  • Someone patient, empathetic, and ready to get stuck in
  • Experience with SEND or care work is a bonus, but not essential
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Confidence supporting pupils with complex needs

What you’ll get in return:

  • A supportive team who’ve got your back from day one
  • Ongoing training, including SEND and PMLD support
  • A role where you’ll genuinely make a difference, every single day
  • Opportunities to grow and develop in specialist education

Why Protocol Education?

  • Weekly pay through PAYE, no umbrella faff
  • FREE access to our CPD Academy
