

Unqualified Nursery Assistant

We’re looking for a caring and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in North Bristol from September 2026. This is a full-time, long-term role within the school’s nursery provision, supporting children at the very start of their learning journey.
And here’s the bit nursery staff often love most, these are school-based nursery hours, meaning your day runs from 8:30am to 3:30pm, giving you those earlier finishes that can make all the difference.
No formal qualifications? No problem. This is an unqualified role, so if you’ve got experience working with young children and a passion for helping them thrive, we’d love to hear from you.

The role
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you'll play an important part in supporting children's learning through play, exploration and routine.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting children across the nursery provision
- Leading and joining in with play-based learning activities
- Encouraging communication, language and social development
- Helping children build confidence and independence
- Supporting routines including snack times, transitions and outdoor play
- Working closely with teachers and families to ensure every child has the best start
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with young children, either in schools, nurseries or childcare settings
- Understands the importance of the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Brings energy, patience and creativity to each day
- Can build warm relationships with children and families
- Enjoys getting stuck into messy play, story time and outdoor learning
- Has a nurturing and positive approach
Experience supporting children with additional needs would be an advantage but is not essential.

Pay
This role pays £90–£100 per day PAYE, depending on experience and previous childcare or educational support work.
