

Sen Teaching Assistant

We're recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work in specialist schools across Durham from September.
You'll be supporting pupils with Autism, learning difficulties, communication needs and complex SEND, helping them access education in a way that works for them. Schools are looking for caring, enthusiastic individuals who are committed to helping every child reach their full potential.
What you'll be doing
- Supporting pupils throughout the school day
- Working 1:1 and in small groups
- Encouraging communication and independence
- Supporting sensory and emotional regulation
- Helping pupils engage in learning activities
- Working closely with teachers and therapists
- Celebrating every achievement, no matter how small
We're looking for someone who
- Has experience supporting children or young people
- Is patient, caring and reliable
- Enjoys working as part of a team
- Has a genuine interest in SEND
- Holds a DBS or is willing to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
