Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher looking for your next opportunity this September?

We are working with a number of welcoming specialist SEND schools and alternative provisions across Sunderland who are looking to appoint caring and enthusiastic teachers on both a full-time and part-time basis.

These roles offer the opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Complex Needs. Whether you're an experienced SEN Teacher or a mainstream teacher looking to transition into SEND, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists and the wider school team.
  • Support pupils' academic progress, emotional wellbeing and social development.
  • Contribute to EHCP targets and regular progress reviews.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Has experience teaching within SEND, SEMH or mainstream settings.
  • Is patient, resilient and passionate about helping every child achieve their potential.
  • Has excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
