Role Purpose

The Manager, Transaction Analytics is responsible for delivering financial, commercial, and market intelligence analysis to support strategic transactions across organisation.

The role plays a critical part in evaluating vessel acquisitions and disposals, newbuilding investments, chartering opportunities, joint ventures, financing structures, M&A activities, and other strategic initiatives.

Working closely with senior leadership, commercial teams, finance, and external stakeholders, the Manager will provide data-driven insights that support investment decisions and maximise shareholder value while managing commercial and operational risks.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Analysis & Evaluation

· Lead financial and commercial analysis for vessel acquisitions, disposals, and fleet optimisation initiatives.

· Develop detailed financial models to assess investment opportunities and strategic transactions.

· Ability to embed AI into analytics workflows to accelerate insight generation, improve productivity, and support data-driven decision-making.

· Assess transaction risks, sensitivities, and return scenarios across varying market conditions.

· Support due diligence processes for acquisitions, partnerships, and strategic investments.

Shipping Market Intelligence

· Monitor global shipping markets, including freight rates, asset values, sale and purchase activity, and macroeconomic trends.

· Analyse vessel performance, earnings potential, and market cycles across tanker, dry bulk, container, LPG, LNG, or offshore sectors.

· Produce market intelligence reports and strategic recommendations for senior management.

· Maintain databases covering vessel values, transaction activity, charter rates, and competitor fleet developments.

Team Management

· Lead, develop, and mentor the Transactions Analytics team.

· Provide clear direction, regular coaching, and support for individual career development.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, Shipping, or related discipline.

· 7+ years of experience in shipping finance, transaction advisory, investment analysis, corporate development, maritime consulting, private equity, investment banking, or commercial shipping.

· Strong understanding of shipping markets and vessel economics.

· Advanced financial modelling and valuation skills.

· Experience evaluating vessel acquisitions, fleet investments, or strategic transactions.

· Proficient in applying AI tools

· Highly proficient in Excel, Power BI, and financial analysis tools.
