We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to work in welcoming primary schools, providing tailored 1:1 support to pupils with additional needs. About the Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a pupil on a 1:1 basis, supporting their academic progress, social development and emotional wellbeing. You'll collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and families to ensure the pupil receives the personalised support they need to flourish both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and confidence.
• Work alongside teachers to deliver personalised learning and support strategies.
• Adapt learning resources and activities to meet individual needs.
• Support the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) where applicable.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and parents where required.
• Support pupils during lessons, transitions, breaktimes and school activities.

What We're Looking For

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable but not essential.
• A patient, caring and empathetic nature.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A flexible and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• An understanding of SEND needs such as Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language needs, SEMH or other additional needs is advantageous.
• A genuine passion for helping children succeed.

What We Need to Clear You

Before you can start work, we'll need:

• Passport or proof of right to work in the UK.
• Two proofs of address (such as a driving licence, utility bill or council tax statement).
• A CV covering the last 10 years of work or education, with any gaps explained.
• References covering the last two years, including childcare or education settings where applicable.
• An overseas police check if you have lived abroad for three months or more within the last five years.
