This school in Kingswood that is looking for a strong, resilient and committed Learning Support Assistant to join their team.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with children and understands that every day can look a little different. The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who can provide consistency, encouragement and support to pupils who may find aspects of school life challenging, helping them feel safe, engaged and ready to learn.

You'll be working closely with class teachers and the wider support team, providing one-to-one and small group support throughout the school day. Some pupils may have additional needs relating to communication, social and emotional development, or behaviour, so a calm approach, patience and the ability to build trust are key.

This is a rewarding role for someone who can remain positive during challenging moments and understands the importance of celebrating small successes. Whether it's helping a child regulate their emotions, stay focused during a lesson, or build confidence in the classroom, your support will make a genuine difference.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
  • Helping children access learning both inside and outside the classroom
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, staff and families
  • Supporting children with additional learning, communication or behavioural needs
  • Working alongside teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment

About You:

  • Experience working with children in schools, childcare, youth work or similar settings
  • Calm, patient and resilient, even during challenging situations
  • Confident building positive relationships and setting clear boundaries
  • Comfortable supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH or additional needs
  • Able to work independently and as part of a wider team
  • Passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning

What We Need to Get You Started:

  • Passport or proof of right to work
  • Two proofs of address, such as a driving licence, utility bill or council tax letter
  • CV covering the last 10 years of work or education, with any gaps explained
  • Two years of references, including childcare or education references where applicable
  • Overseas Police Check (OSPC) if you have lived overseas for three months or more within the last five years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
