Fernleigh House has an opportunity for a Support Worker to join our team. This is a bank contract and we can offer various shift patterns across earlies, lates and longer days including weekends and occasional night shifts.

Fernleigh House is located in Leyland, a suburb of Preston, in Lancashire. It offers residential support to six autistic males and females and people with a learning disability.

We can also support those who have:

• Difficulties with communication
• Moderate to severe behaviour that may challenge
• Epilepsy

You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the service. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, supporting with care requirements, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.

• Provide personal care and support with daily living tasks.
• Encourage and assist participation in activities and community life.
• Support service users in achieving their personal outcomes in the way they choose.
• Maintain accurate records, care plans, charts, and daily notes.
• Build positive relationships with service users, families, colleagues, and stakeholders.
• Uphold safety, security, and confidentiality in line with policies and regulations.
• Act as a key worker for individuals, helping them to set goals and track progress.
• Promote choice, independence, and involvement at all times.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing ideas and suggestions.
• Working with the team to support residents to "Live Their Life" as independently as possible

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills are necessary to support our residents
• Commitment to upholding professional standards, policies, and procedures.
• Experience in Learning Difficulties, Autism, Epilepsy and behaviours that challenge is an advantage but not essential as all training will be provided.

A good standard of spoken and written English is essential for this role, as it involves supporting individuals with communication difficulties and ensuring their needs are clearly understood.
