Protocol Education is recruiting a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant for a specialist secondary SEND school in Newcastle.

You'll work as part of a supportive school team, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and develop the skills they need both inside and outside the classroom.

What you'll be doing

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
• Helping pupils participate in lessons
• Supporting communication and social interaction
• Encouraging independence and self-confidence
• Helping pupils manage emotions and behaviour
• Supporting practical, creative and life-skills activities
• Following individualised support plans and EHCP targets
• Building positive relationships with pupils
• Working alongside teachers and other professionals
• Supporting pupils to prepare for greater independence

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
