Complex Needs Teaching Assistant – Newcastle

Protocol Education is working with a specialist secondary SEND school in Newcastle seeking a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting pupils who may need additional help with learning, communication, behaviour and everyday independence.

You'll spend your day building positive relationships, providing consistent support and helping pupils feel confident in their school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 and small-group support
• Build strong, positive relationships with pupils
• Support pupils with communication and interaction
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Encourage independence and self-esteem
• Assist with classroom learning and practical activities
• Support individual targets and EHCP outcomes
• Help pupils develop social and life skills
• Work collaboratively with teachers and specialist staff
• Provide encouragement and celebrate progress
