Search Optimisation Specialist

We are now hiring a Search Optimisation Specialist to join our Marketing team and help maximise Phoenix's visibility across traditional search engines, AI-powered search experiences and generative AI platforms.
This role will focus on improving discoverability across SEO, Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), ensuring Phoenix content is positioned effectively wherever customers search for information. Working closely with content, marketing and subject matter experts, you will help develop strategies that improve rankings, citations, engagement and overall digital visibility.
What will you be doing?
- Develop and execute SEO, AEO and GEO strategies to improve visibility across search engines and AI platforms.
- Conduct keyword, topic and prompt research to identify optimisation opportunities.
- Optimise content and on-page elements for traditional search engines and AI-powered search experiences.
- Apply structured data, metadata and schema markup to improve discoverability and citation performance.
- Structure content to enhance visibility within AI-generated answers, chatbots and voice search environments.
- Monitor rankings, visibility and citation performance across SEO, AEO and GEO channels.
- Produce reporting and insights for stakeholders, highlighting performance and opportunities.
- Monitor industry trends, search algorithm updates and changes across AI platforms.
- Identify content opportunities and optimisation improvements across the business.
- Support paid search activity by optimising ad copy, landing pages and campaign performance.
What are we looking for?
- Strong experience in SEO and search optimisation roles.
- Hands-on understanding of AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Advanced understanding of SEO best practices, schema markup, structured data and E-E-A-T principles.
- Strong awareness of how AI-powered platforms surface, summarise and cite content.
- Experience using search and analytics platforms such as Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush and Screaming Frog.
- Ability to analyse ranking, visibility and citation data to generate actionable insights.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Organised and proactive approach to managing multiple priorities.
Experience & Qualifications
- Experience developing and executing SEO strategies.
- Experience optimising content for search engines and AI-powered discovery platforms.
- Experience analysing performance metrics and making data-driven recommendations.
- Experience working within marketing, digital marketing or content-focused environments desirable.

Following a screen with the Recruitment Team, you can expect a two-stage interview process, one online and one in-person.
