Food Technology Teacher
Food Technology Teacher
Wakefield | Full-time | September start
If you’re the kind of teacher who enjoys a bit of organised chaos, flour on the worktops, and students proudly saying “Miss/Sir, try this!”, you’ll probably like this one.
We’re working with a secondary school in Wakefield looking for a Food Technology Teacher to join them in September. It’s a full-time role in a school that really values practical subjects, not just as a timetable filler, but as something students genuinely enjoy and take pride in.
The department is well set up, the kitchens are in good shape, and the team around you are down-to-earth and supportive. It’s the sort of place where people muck in, share ideas, and have a laugh along the way.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be teaching Food Tech across KS3 and KS4. Think proper hands-on lessons, helping students build confidence in the kitchen, understand nutrition, and pick up skills they’ll actually use outside school. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about getting stuck in and giving things a go.
What they’re after
- A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent)
- Experience teaching Food Technology in a secondary school
- Someone who can keep a calm classroom, even when things get a bit lively
- A bit of personality, someone students can connect with
- A genuine interest in helping young people learn real-life skills
Why it’s worth a look
- Supportive leadership who leave you to get on with your job
- Students who enjoy practical lessons
- A department that’s open to new ideas, not stuck in its ways
- A fresh start in September, no last-minute rush
If you’re ready for a new role where you can just get on and teach, this could be a really good fit.
Drop us a message and we’ll talk you through it properly, no pressure, just a chat.
