The Whitby Scheme is looking to recruit a Support Worker to join the team. This is a bank role.
The Whitby Scheme is located across two sites in Whitby, a seaside town on the east coast of North Yorkshire. Our service offers residential support for 35 individuals with a range of mental health needs.
Across our facilities we are able to accommodate individuals who require male or female only settings. The service is also able to support individuals with secondary needs, including people who have a learning disability or are on the autism spectrum. You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the service. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, supporting with care requirements, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.

- Provide personal care and support with daily living tasks.
- Encourage and assist participation in activities and community life.
- Support service users in achieving their personal outcomes in the way they choose.
- Maintain accurate records, care plans, charts, and daily notes.
- Build positive relationships with service users, families, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Uphold safety, security, and confidentiality in line with policies and regulations.
- Act as a key worker for individuals, helping them to set goals and track progress.
- Promote choice, independence, and involvement at all times.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing ideas and suggestions.
- A caring and respectful approach to supporting others.
- Ability to work flexibly and think innovatively.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Commitment to upholding professional standards, policies, and procedures.
- Experience in care or support work (desirable, but not essential – training provided).
