A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Basildon is seeking a committed 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs. The Role
As a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide tailored support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs throughout the school day.
- Help implement strategies and interventions set out by the school's SENCo and teaching staff.
- Encourage engagement, independence, and positive learning behaviours.
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with the child.
- Support emotional regulation, communication, and social development.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the pupil.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs, either in a school or similar setting.
- A patient, nurturing, and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to remain calm and adaptable in different situations.
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
- Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
