Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Social Housing (Refurb & Maintenance)

Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire (Office-based with hybrid flexibility)

£40,000 – £45,000 + £4,000 Car Allowance

We are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of planned refurbishment and maintenance works across a long-term social housing programme.

This is a great opportunity for an Assistant QS looking to develop their commercial experience within the social housing sector, working alongside an experienced Quantity Surveyor and wider commercial team.

Key Focus:

Supporting the commercial management of planned refurbishment and maintenance works

Assisting with cost control, reporting and commercial analysis

Working with NHF Schedule of Rates

Monitoring subcontractor and supplier costs

Supporting CVRs, CVCs and management accounts

Checking purchase orders, invoices and costs against budgets

Supporting the onboarding and management of subcontractors and suppliers

Working closely with the wider commercial and operational teams

Essential:

Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying or Assistant Quantity Surveying role

Strong numerical and organisational skills

Good Excel and general IT knowledge

Basic understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes

Good communication and negotiation skills

Ideally, experience within social housing, refurbishment, maintenance or planned works

Desirable:

Knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates

Re-measurement experience

Experience working for a contractor

Previous social housing, repairs, refurbishment or planned works experience
