1:1 Support | BS4
Be the Person Who Makes the Difference
For some children, success at school starts with having one trusted adult by their side.
Protocol Education is working with a number of welcoming primary schools across BS4 to recruit caring, patient, and committed 1:1 Learning Support Assistants who are passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.
This role is all about building trust, creating consistency, and helping a child feel safe enough to learn, grow, and succeed.
You will work closely with a pupil who may have SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or additional learning needs, providing tailored support throughout the school day. Your calm presence, encouragement, and understanding will make a meaningful difference to their confidence, wellbeing, and engagement in learning.
The Role
As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide dedicated support to a pupil who requires additional help accessing learning
- Build a positive, trusting relationship that promotes confidence and emotional security
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour throughout the school day
- Adapt learning activities alongside the class teacher to meet individual needs
- Encourage independence while providing reassurance when needed
- Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and participate fully in classroom activities
- Act as a positive role model both in and out of the classroom
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, support staff, and families to ensure the best outcomes for the child
This is more than a classroom support role. It's an opportunity to become a consistent, positive influence in a child's educational journey.
