Protocol Education is working closely with a range of welcoming nurseries and primary schools across BS3 to recruit caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioners. The Role

As an Early Years Practitioner, you'll play a vital role in helping children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting children across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Delivering engaging, play-based learning experiences
  • Encouraging early communication, language, literacy, and numeracy development
  • Supporting daily routines, personal care, and transitions throughout the day
  • Leading small group activities and providing 1:1 support where needed
  • Building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Supporting children with a range of needs, including SEND
  • Following safeguarding procedures and contributing to a safe learning environment

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in working with young children within a nursery, preschool, or school setting
  • Calm, patient, and nurturing in their approach
  • Passionate about supporting children's learning and development
  • Confident building strong, trusting relationships with children
  • Flexible, proactive, and a positive team player
  • Understanding of children's individual needs and learning styles
  • Knowledgeable about EYFS principles and child development

Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualifications are highly desirable, but we would also love to hear from experienced practitioners with relevant childcare experience.

What We Need to Clear You

  • A valid passport or proof of your right to work in the UK
  • Two proofs of address
  • A CV covering the last 10 years of work and/or education history, with any gaps explained
  • Two years of references, including childcare or education settings where applicable
  • An overseas police check if you have lived abroad for 3 months or more within the last 5 years
