Protocol Education is working with welcoming nurseries and Early Years settings across the BS4 area to recruit caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Nursery Assistants, Early Years Practitioners, and Learning Support Staff for January 2027 starts.

The early years are some of the most important in a child's development, and we're looking for people who are passionate about helping children learn through play, exploration, and positive relationships. The Role

You'll support children across the EYFS, helping to create positive learning experiences in safe, engaging, and nurturing environments.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting children on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
• Encouraging communication, language development, and early literacy skills
• Assisting with phonics foundations, number awareness, and play-based learning activities
• Helping children develop confidence, independence, and positive social skills
• Supporting daily routines including mealtimes, outdoor learning, and transitions throughout the day
• Building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
• Promoting a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
• Supporting children with additional needs, including SEND, where required

A Bit About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children in Early Years, childcare, or education settings
• Is comfortable supporting children aged 2-5 years
• Has a calm, patient, and nurturing approach
• Enjoys getting involved in play, learning activities, and child development
• Can build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
• Understands the importance of inclusive practice and supporting individual needs
• Is reliable, adaptable, and enthusiastic
• Is passionate about helping children thrive during their earliest years

Experience supporting children with SEND is beneficial but not essential.

What We Need to Clear You

To get you registered and ready for work, we'll need:

• Passport or proof of right to work in the UK
• Two proofs of address
• A CV covering the last 10 years of employment and/or education, with any gaps explained
• References covering the last two years, including childcare references where applicable
• An overseas police check if you have lived abroad for three months or more within the last five years
