The Role

As a Key Stage 1 HLTA, you will:

• Support pupils across Year 1 and Year 2 classes
• Deliver planned lessons and lead learning when required
• Support children's progress in phonics, reading, writing, and mathematics
• Deliver targeted interventions and small-group support sessions
• Build positive relationships that promote confidence and engagement
• Support pupils with varying needs, including SEND
• Help create a nurturing, inclusive, and purposeful learning environment
• Work collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff to support pupil achievement

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working as a HLTA or in a similar classroom support role
• Is confident leading learning and delivering lessons when required
• Has experience supporting pupils across Key Stage 1
• Is calm, patient, and positive in their approach
• Builds strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families
• Can adapt learning to meet a range of abilities and additional needs
• Has a strong understanding of phonics and early literacy development
• Is passionate about helping children grow in confidence, independence, and resilience

What We Need to Clear You

To get you registered and ready for work, we'll need:

• A valid passport or proof of your right to work in the UK
• Two proofs of address
• A CV covering the last 10 years of work and/or education history, with any gaps explained
• Two years of references, including education or childcare references where applicable
• An overseas police check if you have lived abroad for 3 months or more within the last 5 years
