KS2 Learning Support

The weeks leading up to Christmas can be some of the most important in Key Stage 2. Pupils are building confidence, consolidating learning, and developing the independence they'll need as they move towards the next stage of their education.

We're working with a friendly and supportive primary school in BS13 seeking a dedicated KS2 Learning Support Assistant to join their team after half term. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to pupils in Years 5 and 6, helping them overcome challenges, achieve their goals, and finish the term feeling confident and successful.

What You'll Be Doing

As a KS2 Learning Support Assistant, you'll work alongside teachers and school staff to create a positive and engaging learning environment.

Your role will include:

• Supporting teaching and learning across Key Stage 2 classrooms
• Delivering targeted literacy and numeracy interventions
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils who need additional encouragement
• Helping pupils stay focused, motivated, and engaged in lessons
• Adapting learning activities and resources to meet individual needs
• Promoting confidence, resilience, and independence
• Building positive relationships that help children feel supported and valued
• Supporting pupils as they prepare for the transition to secondary school

Every day will bring new opportunities to celebrate progress and help children recognise what they're capable of achieving.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within KS2
• Is confident supporting literacy and numeracy development
• Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Communicates clearly, professionally, and positively
• Is proactive, reliable, and adaptable
• Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a team
• Believes every child deserves the opportunity to succeed
• Has a genuine passion for helping young people reach their potential

Experience supporting pupils with SEND would be advantageous, though not essential.

What We Need to Clear You

To get you registered and ready for work, we'll need:

• Passport or proof of right to work in the UK
• Two proofs of address
• A CV covering the last 10 years of employment and/or education, with any gaps explained
• References covering the last two years, including recent school, childcare, or relevant support experience
• An overseas police check if you have lived abroad for three months or more within the last five years
