Psychology Graduate – Behaviour Support Assistant

Are you a Psychology graduate interested in behaviour, mental health and child development?

We are looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant to work within an SEN/SEMH provision supporting pupils who require additional help managing their emotions and behaviour.

This role is ideal for graduates interested in developing experience before pursuing careers in:

• Educational Psychology
• Clinical Psychology
• Counselling
• Mental Health
• Social Work
• Therapy

You will work closely with pupils on a one-to-one and small-group basis, supporting them to develop emotional regulation, communication and social skills.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting pupils during lessons
• Helping pupils regulate their emotions
• Using positive behaviour strategies
• Supporting pupils during difficult situations
• Building positive and trusting relationships
• Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff

This role requires someone who is calm, patient and confident working with young people who may sometimes display challenging behaviour.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
