About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Chesterfield. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who can inspire students, foster confidence in mathematics, and help learners achieve their full academic potential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality Mathematics lessons while contributing to the continued success of the department and wider school community.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
Teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 where appropriate.
Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all students and learning abilities.
Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
Support students in developing problem-solving, reasoning, and analytical skills.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers, and school leaders.
Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and school events.

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Experience teaching Mathematics in a secondary school setting.
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Mathematics.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to motivate and engage students of varying abilities.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

Experience teaching GCSE Mathematics.
Experience teaching A-Level Mathematics.
Knowledge of current curriculum developments and assessment practices.
Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Evidence of ongoing professional development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
