About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Physics Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Chesterfield. The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering high-quality Physics education, inspiring students to develop a deep understanding of scientific concepts, and fostering curiosity about the world around them.

This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to develop their career within a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Physics lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience is desirable).
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and achievement.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies.
  • Differentiate teaching and learning activities to meet the needs of all students.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and effective classroom management.
  • Support students in developing analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations.
  • Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum and departmental initiatives.
  • Participate in STEM activities, science clubs, and enrichment opportunities.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Degree in Physics or a closely related subject.
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the secondary Physics curriculum.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Previous teaching experience is desirable; ECTs are encouraged to apply.
